A New Venture Begins

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my new venture! I am trying something new... Crowdfunded Factory Direct Procurement of hard to get and deeply discounted items. In a pandemic, this means toilet paper, masks, sanitizer and such directly from the factories and sources around the globe; delivered to your door! Later we will add other items that show promising interest for both businesses and households. Feel free to make suggestions.

This website is a placeholder while finish building out the full eCommerce suite and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Stay tuned...

How does it work?

We source items of interest globally and negotiate directly. We also negotiate, quote and budget all the costs to bring these items to your door. These include packing, freight, customs clearing, duty, tariffs, breaking out the shipment and getting it to your dock or door.

Once we know cost, we can determine price and launch a crowdfunding. The target value of the crowdfund is the factory minimum or source required shipment quantity such as container, trailer, or pallet. The funds are yours, the purchase is yours and the inventories in motion are yours. We are your agent managing the funds, transactions, payments, inventory and contracts along the way. We are a service business, not a reseller, and own no inventory. Our fees are collected from the residual balance of the crowdfund after delivery.

When your factory-scale multi-customer shipment arrives, it is broken into the specific shipments for you and others; typically  within a day or two. As it is your inventory, there is no reason for us to store it. It will be expedited off the dock of our logistics partners.

In this model, there are no intermediaries such as wholesalers, retailers, warehouses or distributors between you and the source of the product. By going direct at factory scale, we lower price. By eliminating the middle resellers we incur fewer markups. By removing transfer steps, we lower costs.

Our goal is to bring you difficult items at a fair prices and more common items at heavily discounted prices. We believe factory-scale purchases delivered direct to be the lowest cost supply chain model. It has the added advantage of securing difficult items at the source, before they vanish into extended supply chains with preferential availability for some and price gouging for others.

What's the risk?

It's your money and your inventory; so the risks these purchases and shipments are subject to are no different than any other factory or international buy you may make on your own behalf. However rare it might be, there could be war, natural disasters, insurance limitations, government actions, fraud and misrepresentation, etc. The overwhelming majority of world commerce is delivered successfully and we are experienced in these relationships and transactions.

Each crowdfunded purchase is a stand alone financial account. Unexpected difficulties with delivery will be paid for out of the contingency, fees and surplus/profit we build into each order's account. Our obligation and your risk ends when funds are exhausted from the crowdfunded proceeds in the account. Where feasible, partial refunds of available cash balances and/or partial delivery of available product will be made. We only receive compensation after you receive delivery.

Your Qualifications as Agent?

I am currently vice president of supply chain for Sonic Manufacturing Technologies, the largest electronics manufacturing service (EMS) in the Silicon Valley. In this role I work with 500 suppliers from around the globe to bring in 1,500 different parts per week in total volumes of 1.25 million parts per week and manage over $15 million per year of purchases. I am adept at planning, sourcing, negotiating, quoting, ordering, followup, expediting, communicating and coordinating a supply chain. I will be of primary involvement on your orders and frequently work with professionals from my extensive network, who have specialized knowledge or reside local to the factory, as purchasing agents and problem solvers for your orders.

I have over 20 years experience in supply chain management, a BA in Political Science from Michigan State, an MBA from University of La Verne, professional certification in the top 1% from APICS (CFPIM) and certification in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). I love using tech in supply chain. At Sonic, over 50% of our purchases are no-touch autonomous computer-to-computer transactions. Similarly, with tech, this will be a single-person business that has no need to pass on the costs of expensive legacy infrastructure such as offices, warehouses and distribution centers; hence "the supply chain guy."
